Stock Times for all year Type R's ??? For sure????
It seems that everywhere that i go it posts a different 1/4 mile time for the same years....now i know each year varies in its times....but i would like to know for sure what each year runs in the 1/4....please even if you just know the factory time stated for YOUR ITR stock...please post...thanks again......
Ever think that all the different times might be related to different drivers, conditions of the cars, atmospheric conditions, track conditions, etc?

Yes i understand that but you see when you read up on cars about thier performance it tells you thier stock 1/4 mile time...im talking about that, not what people have done themselves...where people have listed the stock times i have seen all different times for all different years sotck...im just trying to find out what each years stock Type R puts down in the 1/4 mile.......
You ain't makin any sense.
So you only want times as they are printed in magazines? Which magazines, only the ones that published the best times? How is that any better than getting everyones real world times?

Ok man...if were to look in your manual in your ITR, and it stated performance times for your car....what would it be....im not saying that it does that, im sayin i want to know what completely stock R's are running from the factory...for all years....
wtf are you smokin and why the hell ain't you passin it around?
Performance numbers from who? Honda? I don't ever remember Honda publishing any performance numbers for the Acura ITR in North America for Any year. I could be wrong but all I remember from the first time I read about the R maybe in R&T or some such motor mag is their "as tested" performance numbers.
If you mean like "claimed factory performance numbers" IE HP and TQ and whatnot, that's all in the brochures but there aren't any 1/4 mile or 0-60 numbers in those. It may not be easy to come by as in I'd think that would be advertised numbers for auto shows and whatnot.

Well, at least I'm being entertained at work. Gotta stay positive right.
Best of luck in your quest there.

obviously it isn't in the manual and i haven't heard HODNA release anything stating the 1/4 mile time. all the magazines will be the most consistent, but that does not mean didly when many people get better times!!! stop being retarded.

Guess I'll add to this silly thread.
What your question is trying to achieve is a pretty moot point. As stated by 1GREYTEG in his first comment, there are to many factors that go into getting an exact time. There is no such thing. EVER. IN ANYTHING. Car related or not. There are too many scenarios, and factors...etc. etc. etc.
People will claim this time and that time, and depending on the source of this data it is merely there to give you a very educated guess on the perfomance of a specific car. Nothing more.
Some say the 97's are faster than the 98's and up. Some say it's the other way around. The only critical differences from the 97's and every other year is that the 97 models had all of the relative engine parts ported and polished by hand where as in 98' and up, Honda developed machines to do it.
If someone wants to correct me on this, I don't believe there was a change in compression or in transmission gear ratios or weight for that matter.
This question can be argued until everyone is blue in the face and ready to beat the **** out of one another. SO, to make an extreeeeeeeeemly long story short, it simply comes down to the driver.
If you can find a driver that has track tested every year R, at the same track, with the same EXACT conditions and equipment there is no true way to tell.
Now, let's all smile, shake hands and pat one another on the back.

I read that in the begining two techs ported the r heads and then production was to slow so by the time the 98 and up were being done they were up to six full time people just porting the heads. anyone else read this?
let me see if i can find it...

That's what I was wondering five minutes ago. Someone bumped it and erased their post for comic relief.
For the record, I was going to add that the '97s are the fastest but I already pointed that out two years ago.

The best 1/4 mile time I've seen is user Active Aero with a 13.9 or 13.7 in a bone stock ITR. Pretty amazing if you ask me.

You're an idiot. GTFO.
If you can't understand that 1/4 times of a car depends on conditions and driver then don't even bother getting into cars.
