Need help with AUTO Teg
I need performance and i want to know what i have to work with using an auto tranny. I cant do the manual tranny conversion and i would like to go all motor. is it possible in an automatic or do i need to boost. If anyone has an helpful info let me know b/c i feel stuck.
Unfortunately, you will be stuck. (In my experience)
I had that same problem. With intake/header/exhaust, lighter wheels, etc, I still had a manual Civic EX beat me (he only had a DC sports header).
You can see there how much of a limiting factor our automatic transmissions are. May I ask why the 5-speed conversion isn't an option? Is it because of price? Of course there are ways around it, but....
1. The performance upgrades you have to do to make it worthwhile will be more than the cost of the 5-speed conversion. Plus the fact that if you had just done the 5-speed conversion in the first place, it would be faster than what performance modifications you just did.
2. Level Ten has some options for you regarding your automatic transmission.
After I did my 5-speed conversion, I dropped one FULL second in the quarter mile. Think about it, one second is a lot. I was very happy with my choice.
Second, I know three people who have turboed their automatic Integras. Two had low boost, and one had high boost. All three of them had their transmissions start to fail pretty quickily.
EDIT: I was reading your post again. You said you want to go all motor, plus you have an automatic transmission. I'm led to believe you have an B18B1 motor, right? All motor and B18B1 aren't usually seen in one sentence. It is possible, and there is a large thread about it here. Just search for it. But then again, we come to the price factor. For the price that you'd be modifying your LS for all motor, it would be better just go with the 5-speed conversion.
You'd probably end up being faster anyway with just that.
Basically what I'm trying to say is.....
Your automatic Integra with your "all motor" modifications will still most probably be slower than a STOCK Integra 5-speed.

I also have an auto(98 gs).. but, I'm looking into the 5-speed conversion. I'm going to the junk yard tomorrow to see if I can find myself a LS tranny. I would get a GS-R tranny, but I think I'm going with LS tranny then turboing it
but yeah, it shouldn't cost that much $800-$1200(not including labor) going to see if I can get people to help me with doing it.
I'd say the best thing is to do the swap or sell your car and get a 5-speed
Just have to find the damn tranny!
