Default GSR Question

I just bought a 1996 GSR and I have a stupid question to ask. I just put an AEM CAI on it and it VTEC doesn't kick in as loud or as hard as it did on my 1999 Si. Is that normal? It seems to pull really well to redline though. Sorry for the dumb question, but I have never owned a GSR before. Thanks for the help.

It has 131,500 miles on it and it runs perfect. And yes the VTEC did kick in before the intake was put on. It still does now, it's just not like I expected.

vtec is @4400.. and you should feel a difference w/a cai. it usually sounds a little louder when the vtec kicks in too.. especially when the secondaries open.

I do feel a difference. It's just not a loud VTEC engagement like my 1999 Si.

actually, i do remember the 99-00 civic si's vtec being a little louder stock. it's probaly normal man. don't worry about it. but you should still feel power gains from the cai.

Trust me. coming from someone that has owned BOTH cars the B16 in the SI is a lot louder than the B18C1 in the gsr.

This is normal. problem solved
