So what head did you end up going with? And did you sell your CR-V head and goodies yet??

 

Im going to go with the 2000 SI head.

I sold all the non-VTEC parts (well theyre still on my car...but I have buyers for them all). the nice thing is, it will only cost me about $200-$300 out-of-pocket to go VTEC since I sold all my old stuff. (And thats for a B16A3 head, new valvetrain, ITR manifold, chipped ECU, PCV kit, and all necessary hardware to convert to VTEC...not bad huh?)

How much did it all come out too? I now that the outer springs are on sale, what about the portflow stuff, on sale as well?

 

It was $510 including 3Day shipping.

I believe the valve spring combo and the retainers were $300, the headbolts were around $75 and then $120 or so for the PCV...and the rest for shipping.

you don't have to change your license plate.
instead of **** VTEC, it's Fast VTEC.

 

How did you find a head so easy? I have looked for Vtec heads many times, and never found one that I really wanted to purchase. How much did you pay for the head? Your going to have to find me a head when the time comes for me!!!!

 

Im getting the head for $500 from a local Honda engine builder.
It has the valve cover, intake manifold, cams, all sensors...complete.

 

what cams u gonna run?? ITR's??
also what about TB and intake mani??
u keeping that JDM 4-1 header.

B16A3 cams at first..nt sure what I will upgrade to later yet, possiboy the new Skunk2 Stage1 cams.
64mm Throttle body and OEM ITR manifold
Keeping the JDM header..and will buy a V-AFC in a bit.

 

What do you suspect you HP & torque numbers will be with the Vtec head? What about the quarter mile time? Think you'll get down to the low 13's or even high 12's someday maybe? That would be awsome!!!!

How much does your car weigh? Its a coupe isn't it?

 

Well...I think with the setup I have in mind I should be able to make around 205 WHP and Im not too sure on Torque...hopefully 150 Peak.

Low low 13s is what Im hoping for...maybe even high 12s on slicks. Hell CSpeed Racing ran a 13.4 @ 106 in their B20VTEC Integra (2500 LBS w/ driver) and they made 210 WHP and 157 TQ. That trap speed is easy 12s on slicks...probably a 12.7 or so.

Ill have my car weighed on Wednesday at the track..and Ill let you know.

 

your head would be from a b16a2 if its 99-00 si, the a3 would correspond with the delsol vtec.

Yes, my car is a 1997 Coupe. I weighed it a while back and it was at 2366 LBS but Im not sure if that was with the stock motor or not. Ill see Wednesday what it weighs.

 

Man, I wish I had a job where I could be on H-T all day long!!!! Where do you work? Do they have any openings??? I wouldn't mind moving to AZ. if the money was right.
