Default Lowering an ITR?!

I really donīt like the gap between the tires and wheel-wells of an ITR so Iīve decided to lower it (when I finally have bought it )! So what would be the best setup? (only springs, coilover system or springs and struts) Common brands are H&R, KW, ap, Eibach, DC-Sports, Koni, Vogtland, G&M, APEX, ...over here in germany. No Tein, Neuspeed, Skunk2,.....! The problem with new struts or a coilover system will be that I wonīt be able to adjust it to be as good as the stock suspension is! Please help me out because itīs becoming a real pain in my a$$! Thanx in advance!

I would go with H & R's, they have the best quaulity and mated with good tires will have you ITR pulling over 1g.

FYI: I just ordered some for $950 (don't ask where, can't tell ya) I should be getting them in like a month, I will post pics with stock wheels and the coil overs.

Both of course! I mean, I just want lower it for about 1,4 to 1,6 inch without loosing the stock handling performance, if thatīs possible. Iīm not in racing or anything like that. Just on the normal streets. What will be the best for my ride then?

You can run soft Tein S-tech springs on stock shocks w/o wearing them drastically?

You get what u pay for in Suspension from what i've seen in people's cars. Cheaper the suspension the worse the ride, as far as bounce when your driving down the road, doesn't corner worth ****. Personally i like the Mugen Suspension but that's major $$$ but eventually will save up for it

So you would say I should buy a complete coilover systen, letīs say like H&R or Koni? (We DON`T have got Tein, Skunk2, Tokico, ....over here!!!!) Who do I know which adjustement will be the best for my car? I mean better than stock?

If you're going for looks, then just get the springs. If you're going for performance, then get the coilovers. Also, what about Comptech?

I konw where I could get some Comptech springs but they are not street-legal over here! Iīm not into racing or anything like that. Itīs more for the looks but that doesnīt mean that I donīt want to have a good suspension.

I totally agree with George Kingston, don't lower your R unless you are using the real good stuff like Mugen. And don't just change the springs, springs & shocks should be changed together, otherwise, you will get a bad ride quality

Yea, the Autobahn is a very good thing over here! I would like to visit the states again, too! I been there for about five times for several weeks. Liked it a lot! Iīm not that much in Maastricht. I`m always going to "Kerkrade" to buy some... Iīm living about five minutes away from there.
So you would recommend me to buy a full coilover system which is completely adjusted by a good garage?? You know, I HAVE to lower it because I really think that these gaps are really ugly between the wheel-wells and the tires!!

I got my H&R's for $400 w/ installation (got a deal), I am not impressed with them, they do the job at first (make it look nicer), but when I fly down the highway it's not good enough, the car bounces and feels reeeeeeally dangerous, so I am planning on getting the zeal coilovers now ($1400, $$$$$$$$$)

It bounces and feel realy dangerous? Well.....this is not possible. Have you corrected the camber, allignment, etc.....man, I have lowering springs too and I drive 150 mph on the Autobahn and we have much more curves in our streets than you in the USA have. The car feels realy nice and very good on the road. No bouncing at all and high speed curves are no problem!

Dogg, if those are the only options then there is one obvious one.

FULL APEXi n1 SUSPENSION! Now that **** is crazy. My homeboi in his hatcbhack has got that and it rides like stock and handles hella crazy. that is number one choice FULL APEXi suspension.

Would definitly be the H&Rz as far as the price they are definitley good for the low price. Ride pretty good too.

FInd out if they make Ground Control coilovers for your car. Ground control rides hella good. dumped my rsx with them and my ex type R. iite hope i could help good luck

Apexi Suspension: Looking around $1200 easy
H&R: $100-120
Ground Control: $250-350

I have -3cm APEX springs and they are great...

They low the car and they are not too hard...

perhaps it was $400 CAD.

My vote: leave it at stock height and learn the characteristics of the car from there.
