My thought is that my header loosened up - where it attatches to the head. I'm thinking that I just need to re-torque the bolts.

So I'm wondering if I need a new gasket or if tightening the bolts is enough. Also, does it make that kind of sound if loose.

1 more annoying question. Does anyone know the size of the bolts/nuts that holder the header to the head.

Could it be the header heat shield?

 

It is either the A pipe or the heat sheild, very common on Tegs.
I had my A pipe replace under warranty.

 

i had the same problem. i could swear it was comin from the engine- but i jacked the car up, and banged on the cat a couple of times. that was the prob ;X horrible sound.
