91 accord
i just bought a 91 accord ex 4 dr from my friends mom. it has 130,000 miles for $1500. a good deal if you ask me. everything is stock and she must have drove like an old lady because it drives perfect. i hope to get another 130,000 miles out of it. if my alternater is bad will a lite in the dash come on? i replaced the battery that was 3 years old and it tested bad at autozone. but with my new battery , when i turn everything on in the car my light get a tiny bit dimmer andmy ac blower slows a bit? is this a sighn of a bad alternater? oh yea my back windows dont roll all the way up , i have to help them a bit. any suggestions?
I've got a 91 EX wagon that I just bought with 205K on the odometer. I love this frickin car
I'm not positive about the circuit in the Hondas but on most cars the charge light comes on when the battery supplies more voltage than the alternator. If your headlights are dimming then I'd say it's a good bet the alt is going. If it hasn't been replaced yet it doesn't have long to go. If it were me I'd go ahead and put one in.
The other thing that you should keep an eye on is the distributor. They are the achilles heel of a Honda. Apparently the bearings don't last. I had a starting problem when I got my car. Found out the interior of the dizzy was thoroughly corroded. Priced individually the cost of replacing the coil, ignitor and TDC sensor (the main components of the distributor) was roughly $240. I found one for $200 here: http://www.importperformancepa....html
Good luck with your Accord. And when it's time to replace those cv axles they're a piece o' cake too.
