any advice for dealing w/ the insurance company?
anybody got any advice for dealing w/ the insurance company to keep me from getting screwed really bad?? I've never had to deal w/ them b/c the last time my car got stolen, I didnt have theft.... thanks.
as with any orginized crime, be firm and stick to what you want ....they will lowball you, try to offer you something less....have all the receits, right down the story and stick to it....if they will not do anything, then its time for a lawyer, start with a letter, it can usually resolve it...
Hey jason, just play it tough. Don't give in. Don't back off from what you want. The insurance companies try to pay the least amount of money possible. You should be able to work a pretty good deal.
my uncle works for allstate..
i forget what they call what he does but hes the guy who estimates how much money you get..he comes out and looks at the cars and ****.
i can ask him if he has any advise on what you can do to get the most you can if there is anything.
i do know if you dont have reciepts for your mods youre most likely **** out of luck on getting anything over blue book.

yeah, I appreciate it. the only mod I really have a receipt for is my wheels/tires adn that's probably the most expensive thing...I really didnt expect to get reimbursed for anything I didnt have receipts for...one of the problems of buying used stuff... I always forget to get a receipt.
they have to pay for anything attached to the car by law if its not part of teh car its part of home owners insurance so they should cover the kit to if u can get receipts somehow and all the other stuff like wutever u know

From what I understand for them to cover parts you had on your car, you had to bring them all the receipts and have them re-evalute your car. You then pay a bit higher insurance for the car, but the value of your car is more. In times like this, the give you more than blue book value for the car.
But it could be different for different insurance companies...
