It's possible, but chances are it won't turn out so great.

I just ported and polished a small section of an si intake manifold runner with a Dremel. I smoothed out casting marks and some slag, but even though I polished the **** out of the section, I can still see grooves from the grinder. I'm just gonna order a port & polishing kit from summit later this week for $40.

What are you trying it to bore it out to? (mm's?)

well i was looking at Boremax.com.. and i seen pic's of the thickness i was just going to go by that... to be honest i don't know what im doing but im gonna give it a shot.

i was thinking of setting up a dremmel viceclamped on a workbench in my garage and have some sort of mechanizam to hold the TB and circle around the port to make everything steady and not messed up..

does this sound like a good idea?

It sounds like a good idea, but if you bore out the throttle body too much, you can actually hurt performance. But if you're gonna practice on a spare TB, go for it.

Are you just bored or are you trying to squeeze every horse out of your motor?

i'm assuming you've already done intake?

if not aim your dremel at your stock air box (BELOW THE FILTER), remove the reverberator aka air hog, and plug the holes with spray paint lids, and cap the vacuum lines

looks ghetto but it works! 37 mpg hwy with AC running and no cruise control, oh it runs and sounds like a bat out of hell too!!!

making it bigger doesnt always give you more power.

if you gonna do it, do it right, have it port matched and polished WELL.

that's only half of the job, then you'll need to adjust the rotor to get it to idle right.
