What kinda slicks are you guys running? What size rims are you guys running? What kinda offset? Anyone running upgraded brakes (larger) with slicks?

I'm getting ready to be making some serious power and I'll need to be able to put it down. Any help is appreciated. Also anyone running upgraded axles? Any reviews on them?

(save the why drag race a Type R comments too please) lol

your gonna want to just invest in some slicks(24.5"). i run BFGoodrich drag radials(225/50/15) but they break loose at the top of first and through second. i semi broke my first axle(94,000 miles on the axles) and was able to limp an hour and a half home from the track, for the money the gator axles seem to be the way to go, i was looking to up grade to these over the winter.

what size rim? Am I going to need spacers or extended wheel studs to clear the brakes?

i have the stock brakes so im gonna run a 15' wheel, im just gonna use a regular 15x7 wheel(rota, kosei), nothing like a borbet drag wheel or anything so i dont think a spacer will be needed..i have the longer studs just in case but the only problem i see is the tire height on the inner fender wells. if your gonna get longer wheel studs i suggest ARP studs, my buddy just snapped a skunk2 stud torqueing his lugs to factory specs.

Why on earth would you want to run larger brakes on a drag car?

eric I measured today I have about an inch wheel gap with the 225's up front so if you have a stock suspension or something you can adjust ride height you should be fine. 24.5x8.3x15 M&H seem to be the way to go

24.5 or 25" slicks seems to be the one everybody goes for..

15x8 are really good, but there are only like two companys that make a wheel like that.
volk is one, they make a 15x8 with 44offset and 29offset.

Im going to probadly get 15x7 rotas or something cheap, and put 24.5" slicks on it.. Im going with gator axles.

I don't think rota make a 15x7 in 5 lug. K1's are nice wheels that are cheap and 15x7 not sure of the offset though
