If you are drag racing stay away from a 4l60e or a 700r4(same thing except one is electronic) 4l80e is a th400 with overdrive so its better suited. Most people drag racing use a powerglide. If its a street car go with a 350 or 400. We sell stout turbo hydromatic trannys at summit racing for a good price.

yes 4l60e's are *** and 700r4's are a PITA to rebuild when it blows up. a T350 or 400 is relativley cheap on rebuilds and pretty durable. powerglides are good too but no fist hand with them.

id go with a tremec TKO 6 speed, but thats just me. autos suck

Yeah I personally like 6 speeds myself. And the tko is a damn good transmission. But at 3 times the price of a th350 that will hold more torque. We all know what the better deal is. When I build a street rod guaranteed it will have a richmond 6 speed in it. But if I was making 800 horsepower. Those trannys don't like to hold that too well.
