Honda Accord 1995 auto turns off while driving
Ok, I'm lossing my mind. For the past three weeks my car just shuts off while driving, almost killing me twice in rush hour traffic.
I could be going 100 or 10 kms an hour. I could be slowing down or speeding up.
I could be turning a corner of flying down a highway.
BAM... all dash lights come on and it's as if I turned the key off in the ignition.
It's not going anywhere. It's like it's in neutral though, it doesn't get hard to break or steer. So I veer of the road as fast as possible.
Take on the mechanics side. They can't find ANYTHING wrong with it.
Today I had it towed because though it usually starts withing 30 secs. It started and then immediately went off again.
The honda people can't find anything wrong.
I told them, it seems to only happen withing the first 5 to 8 Kms after it's sat overnight. Then I'm usually ok.
This has been the second garage and still no answers.
Any absolutely any ideas I can feed them would help huge. It's ruining my job.
Thanks

should have your alternator checked and also your wirings. my brother had a crx that did the same thing. he took it to many shops and none were able to tell him whats was wrong. one mentioned to redo his who electrical wiring. but it was an old car so he ended up selling it.
This MIGHT be whats wrong. My friend had the exact same symptoms on her 93 accord.
Replace your ignition harness. It's easy as hell.
Take your lower steering column cover off and locate the back of the ignition. You should see 3 6mm(I think) screws holding the harness in on the ignition. Unscrew those and remove the harness. The other end of the harness should plug into the fuse box by your feet. Unplug and replace with new or junkyard harness.

If you turn the key off in the ignition, no lights should come on. Do you mean that when it shuts off, that the instument lights come on?
