ok, this has been a bit of a problem and i figured i'd as you gurus on HT.
i have a GSR with JUN 3 cams, cam gears, retainers, springs.
and I have a JUN ECU as well.
when i launch the car, 1st gear works perfectly fine. when i switch to 2nd gear everything is ok till VTEC and it has to fight thru for a bit, then it goes...
anybody have any ideas?

when you say bog, do you mean like just sort of flat dead feeling? i have the same problem with my car and it "jerks" when enganging vtec...got to get it tuned!!

very good point, what rpm is your vtec engagement point set for?

question is, how do i tune it? i mean, i can go to the dyno at Endless garage, that's no prob. but my JUN ECU isn't able to change...the only thing i can tune is my FPR and my cam gears...

Get rid of the Jun ECU and get something that is programmable.

This is the same problem I had with my Skunk 3s, it would bogg really hard when VTEC would x-over, raised VTEC from 4800 to 5800 and advanced the ignition timing a ton, I think when I was done I had 20 degrees of advanced ignition timing, felt good after that.

i don't remember where the vtec xover is on the JUN ECU, i think it's around 5700 or so. i have to check it out.
looks like i have to do some advancing and what not..
thanks for the input! anybody else? i guess i realllllllllly should go hop on the dyno and check :/

What header do you have on the car?
Everyone is saying tune it...which is right, but more specifically you have to have a header with a 2.5 collector and move your VTEC engagement up to 5800-6000.
Doing those 2 things alone will take much of the hesitation away. Then you need to get on the dyno and tune it.

dont think ive seen it mentioned yet, but what about cr?? with stock compression ratio id think you will have a hard time gettin much power out of a stage 3 cam, no matter how much tuning u do.

Definatley sounds like you need Hondata... good luck with it and definatley change vtec to engauge a little higher than normal to smooth things out. what kind of header and exhaust do you have? You might need something that's going to flow really well to feel better potential of those big cams! -Jason
