CEL turns on and off during driving
Ok, so ever since I modified my fuel regulator, my CEL has been turning on and off during drives. Somedays my CEL is off the whole day and turns on the next day. I went to Acura this past weekend to have it checked while I was getting some warranty work on why exactly the CEL is on and they said it was due to changing my fuel settings with the regulator. So they reset the CEL and it turned off again for a little while, but it turned back on the next day while driving. My question is, why is the CEL on because of this? And why does it turn on and off during driving? Is this normal when adding a fuel regulator? Any advice and info would be appreciated. Thanks.
do u let your car warm up everytime u drive it? i noticed this problem on my 94gsr. the cel would only come on sometimes and when i turn off the car it would reset and go away. i then pin pointed the cel comming on only when my car was being driven while cold. the problem was the o2 sensor. i was getting about 20mpg also. i then changed it out and now im getting 26mpg+ and no more check engine light.
maybe when u changed out your fpr u messed with ur fuel and it did something to your cat/o2 sensor. thats my guess man.

On my invoice, it says "inspected dtc code to rich, car has a modified fuel system, no acura. reset ecm to clear code and tested 02 sensors, all ok."
So my 02 sensors are fine. Does installing a fuel regulator cause the CEL to turn on? Does the CEL turn on if my car is running too rich? The only way for me to turn the CEL off is if I convert it to OBD1 and get a chipped ECU which I don't want since I have to pass DEQ in about 5 months.

WOW...
WOW...
WOW...
So the dealer now knows you have modded your car
the dealer knows that you run too much fuel pressure
the dealer knows to kill your warranty
the dealer knows that your cat will or is toasted
the dealer has notified Acura and red flagged your car.
You have a printed out Document that says your too rich
You want to pass some sort of Emissions test in 5 months but want to mess with your car.
I hope that you understand that your ecu will notice that your a/f and cause a CEL.
Want me to keep going?

My warranty runs out in a month, so it really doesn't matter. And when did I say that I wanted to mess with my car? My fuel regulator along with other minor things were installed over 7 months ago and it was running with a OBD1 chipped ECU, so there was no CEL during that period. I recently put my stock ECU back in so that I can prepare for DEQ, but I can't figure out why my CEL is on. I asked the dealer to take a look for me hoping that they can solve the problem since I know that my warranty will expire next month.
