Default Insurance Rates

I kno this is kinda personal, but i am wonderin how much is the insurance rates for a 4th gen prelude?? Mines red, 5 speed, 1994 si model. If you dont wanna tell me (which is perfectly understandable), what do insurance companies consider the prelude? A sports car or a compact??

It's gonna be different for everyone obviously but $1500/year is a fairly good estimate. I don't know about 4th gen, but my 5th gen is considered a sports car.

I'm 18 and drive a 3rd gen. I pay 1300 every 6 months, full coverage, and two tickets. I know the 3rd gen is considered a sport car by my insurance company so i would assume the 4th gens are as well.

4th gen is definetly considered a sports car of course, most rates I think are supposed to be around 150-200/month(depending on driver & insureance company), unfortunatly I'm paying 300/month, 1800/6months, age: 19--most people don't have to worry about it being that high though, I barely have my license though, lol, heck ready my signature, lol

Damn, you guys are paying nothing! I am paying $200 a month! My family and I all have the same insurance. (I am 19 on fri) No accidents, but my parents got 2 tickets, both for not making a full stop at a stop sign. We are always changing companies for the cheapest rates. WE had state farm, to much $. ALso, what is your guy's deductible? Our is $500

You'd be lucky if you pay anything less than that. Like I said before, I was looking at about $380/month but now I'm down to about $215. I have 2 tickets and am 23... I'd to pay $150/month.

you are going to get raped depending on which company you go for. Since the 4th gens (vtec only) have more hp, that means you will be bent over the desk of your insurance agent. Enjoy it.
(20 and my insurance use to be 305 a month...)

It is absolutely pointless to compare what one person is paying for auto insurance to another when we are all from different areas and all have different backgrounds. Auto insurance rates are dependant on so many factors that policy rates comparisons are impossible... Geographic region, State law, policy coverage, deductables, policy options, drivers record, credit history, number of vehicles on a policy, age of drivers on a policy, vehicle theft rate, vehicle year, vehicle model, accident rate per vehicle in your area, fatality rates in your area, etc, etc... They all affect what your rates will be.

If you want to know how much you will need to pay, get quotes from different insurance companies that are available in your area. They are the only ones that will be able to tell you what you have to pay in your situation...

Shop around. Just because one insurance co offered the cheapest rates for one driver, it does not mean the same co will have the best rate for you... Do some legwork and get lots of quotes from different companies, and you can save hundreds of dollars in the long run...
