Where is ERICK"S RACING?
I've done a couple of searches on this but really can't find any type of update.
What's happened to Erick's Racing? They tore it up last year, had regular updates on their website, set (at the time) a world record but have done hardly anything of note this year.
Does anyone know what's going on? Are they just too busy making $$ off their success from last year?
Please, someone fill me in.

There was a rumor I heard that he used something illegal in his car and he was banned for a lil while but I cant vouch for that or have any proof of it being true, just something I heard.
Gotta work to pay for the bills. Ask any shop/race team. We can't all be racing every weekend.
I think he's busy getting his new setup ready for next season. Mid 9's?

I have been wondering the same thing? I used to love to watch the coupe tear it up in P/S. A few months back D sport had an article "the incredible hulk" his 84' CRX P/S but, I heard that kind of fell off due to a wheel base issue? If you have any info let us know. Thanks

the crx is already retired from what i hear
with the new nhra rules it was easier for erick to
take the weight penalty and run the coupe

I believe it was a wheel base issue. Too short.

Probably thought it was "unsafe", especially at those speeds. But then again, it's NHRA what do you expect?

Someone tried to say he was using nitromethane which would be impossible.

Just wondering why its impossible? Maybe a additive he tried to use?
Looks like he has had his problems this year and at the track he looks a little burent out.

Last tech inspection he went thru they were really nitpicking his car.. Every thing from a power down switch location to the size of his intake.. Really sucked the way the made him the example!!

Dont you think you would hear or smell it running on that fuel? He wasing a stock Honda ign. on the car...I dont think that would light Nitro...
Its funny, I have seen the motor apart and theres nothing illegal with it. The guy was using stock head studs even....

Some people think simple setups are unbeleivable, and there are some people that think unbeleivable setups are simple.

Let me give you guys a lesson on how to cheat.
Ok when a few friends of mine use to race motorcycles back in the day they would use NITRO in the oil and would not run valve stem seals in the head. The NITRO would drip through the valve guids. This infact would make a great HP increse and the motor would run fine and you would not smell it either.
Now I am not saying that anybody in our industry would do such because I do not beleave that we have cheaters that would cheat and chance being caught.
But I will say that Eric and I know the same people from the motorcycle world and he knows this works.
My boy races dirt bikes and I use this all the time.
It is just a little edge to compete with the factory backed riders at the track.
makes you wonder why people are not doing this. But all you guys better wake up because it is happening all the time.

Pat how are you
Think of it this way how much alky is in the oil pan at the end of a pass and it does not harm parts like everyone would think.
So running a s**t pot of NITRO is not a problem.
Just so you guys know I do not beleave Erick was cheating he just has the right combo and his car works very well.
