Who has remote start?
Do you have a manual tranny? No shops in my area will do it! GRRR. How did you get it done?
Anyone in Portland or Seattle wanna hook me up? My alarm has the module and all, just need to connect brake, clutch and all that **** up.
Thanks

No shop will do it because of the potential 3rd party liability to them if your car ever injures someone. If this type of install is prohibited by law in your area, the waiver will not matter and they can still be sued. A goldmine for the personal injury lawyer and certain death to any shop because they do not carry insurance for these things. So pretty much no installer with any intelligence will do it. Best bet is to DIY or find a friend who will help you.
edit: take this advice from me, a law student; the potential liability to you is not worth the risk of installing it if you ever park it in a populated area. So install at your own risk!

It's not worth it anyway. I've never seen one installed, but apparently, you have to push all this stuff before you leave the car. And if you go back to the car unlock it to get something inside, it's gonna mess up and not going to work.If you want you manual trannied car warm and toasty inside during the winter get a block heater.

Ya it has all the security features so you cant' start it in gear.
I go to school in North Dakota, so we see highs of 10 degress and lows of -60. And I live in the dorms so I got no electricity for a engine block heater. Remote start is a best option for me.

Yup, I have one and it would be very difficult to leave your car in gear when the remote starter is on. My car keeps running even without the keys as long as the e-brake is on. It turns off automatically when I close my door. Otherwise, the remote starter is deactivated. Fairly safe IMO.
I never knew it was illegal in some areas...
