93 EX Sunroof Questions
Hi,
My GF just bought a 93 Civic Si Coupe (Canadian Si = US EX), but I wasn't as thorough as I should have been when shopping for the car (we were in a rush), so now that we have the car, there are some things that need fixing. I will be posting here a lot.
First thing first, the sunroof.
For one, how are the buttons actually supposed to work? There is a picture of a colored in car on the top, an outline of a car on the bottom, and a button in the middle...this makes no sense to me.
So, as you can tell by the first question, the sunroof does not appear to be working right. It doesn't seem to want to lift up so it can go back. It works ok with a little push up. Is this a common problem? Any tips here?

This seems to be common with the 92-95 EXs (CDN Si). I guess the motor wears out a little or there could be a lot of dirt on the tracks, and a slight nudge is needed to help open the moonroof.

I thought these Civics flip out like the Integra.

Wow...quick responses here.
The sunroof definately flips up and goes back. It's the flipping up that causes the problems.
This weekend I'm going to clean up the tracks and make sure everything is greased, I just wanted to check if this is something common.

ahh ok, then only the 96 and newer slides inside, personally I like the look of the outside ones.
If the sunroof seems to be getting power, it is probably a motor problem.

I like the look of it popping out too. You can actually see the glass part when it does and makes the car look cool when you're cruising on a nice day.
92-95 Civic = moonroof goes up and out
96+ Civic = moonroof goes into roof
All Civics have a tilt feature that the Integra and RSX lack.

Ah...there we go.
I searched for sunroof and came up empty.
