Enduro, Rally, whatever...

This has actually been installed for the 13 Hours at VIR in two weeks but it's a duplicate of the light pod on Todd Hartmann's Gr2 Rally MkII GTI, rendered in wet lay-up carbon. A total of 630w of Spec Miata melting power.
Go ahead, Catch - you know you want to say it...
Hella cool.

That's the plan, man. Still trying to find icy hot stunna blue bulbs for them tho.
Additional news and updates can be found at http://www.it2.evaluand.com/gti and if you want to go to the enduro for a mere $10, send me an email and we'll put you on our overcrew list.
We won't even put you to work so you can enjoy watching us burn the new paint of the trunk of Hunter's Bimmer.

EDIT - I added an ancient history page for you young-uns, so you'll learn to respect your elders. Or laugh at them. http://www.it2.evaluand.com/gti/history.php

hi guys!
looks like it will give you awesome lighting....
one question though; have you upgraded your factory alternator (and charging harness)?
i used to work the 4 hour emra night enduro at summit point alot; and i can't tell you how many cars i have seen come in for a burned up alternator that were running a bunch of auxillary lights like that.... i'd be working and watching them go around (usually turn 9 station); after a bunch of laps we'd notice a yellow tinge to the lights. shortly thereafter, missfiring and no lights. if they were lucky, they'd be able to limp into the pits. if they were luckier still, they'd have a spare alternator to put in. otherwise, i've seen them continue by driving for 30-45 mins on battery alone, come into pits, swap batteries with the tow vehicle, go back out for another stint. tow vehicle then was run around at high rpm to charge the first bat, then swap again/again/again. makes for interesting pit work!!!
good luck to you guys in the 13 hour! hope you have a good race!!!

I asked the same question - more than once. The dealer and light manufacturer rep both assure me that 90amps will do it. We do have a spare but plan on not using it.

I would make sure to read the rules on the lights positioning. At most enduros the lights can not be sitting above the drivers dash board. The work looks great. Please let us know how the vibrations hold up. Good Stuff

it's not my car... i don't care
and those lights should be legal... it just says they cannot be mounted above the lower plane of the windshield... and while they look like the tops sit above it, they are MOUNTED below

Holy S#$%! That's awesome. I was looking forward in attending the 13hr with Evan Racing from Florida but my wife bought some "Wiggles" tickets for that same weekend.
Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait until the ARRC to meet some of you folks. Good Luck out there!

The other drivers well be like dear caught in the headlihgts of a MACK truck. The only thing they will be thinking is OH SH*T, likewise they won't be able to see anything either. Good luck hope ya don't wreck it.
I would love to get involved in stuff like your doing, but I'am in Texas and it would be hard to help you in any way. Plus I'm still in college and have no money and no time for racing, or anything else as a matter of fact.
