ZC/Z6 Mini Me Cam Timing, Help Please
Ok i've got a ZC block with a Z6 head. I'm using a Z6 timing belt, so when i put the timing belt on the cam gear, which way is advanced/retarded on the cam gear? Im assuming toward the front is advanced and toward the rear is retard right? Does anyone know how many teeth im going to be off on the cam gear?
Since the cam gear is going to be off, do i have to fix my ignition timing also? Say i advance my cam gear, do i retard or advance my ignition timing? What5s the general rule of degrees/teeth advanced to degrees retard/advanced on ignition timing? thanks!!!

Towards the bumper is retarded, towards the firewall is advanced...think about it.
Yes whenever you adjust cam timing you ALWAYS need to adjust ignition timing.

had the same problem and i adjusted my vavles cause i got a valve job done on my head but before that the timing seemed like it was off so i tried moving the cam sprocket one tooth forward and backward and the offsetting the dizzy so the bolts were ouside of the holes and the put everything back to tdc and ran the same, it ran awesome but didnt want to stay at a consistant idle so i remembered that i never adjusted the valves and vwalla she runs like a champ but i still gotta hook up my vtec and my vtec contoller.
another thing do not go more than one tooth on the cam sprocket wither way because there is a good chance that you could bend them vavles and than you will be in a money **** hole like i was.
ok thanks! is it ok if i use a d16z6 crank pulley on my SOHC ZC block??? and how do i line up the lines on the crank pulley to the block when im putting the timing belt on???

yes the pulley should work i didnt use it because the thing is already heavy and i dont need anymore weight with the d16z6 pulley haveing power steering and ac belt ****. and for lining that **** up at tdc there is a v mark on the timing belt casing if you look on the firewall side of the motor mount and you line it up with the single mark on the pulley (not the middle one of the three)
