Default upgrading turbo housing

y0....I got a turbo that i need to upgrade the exhaust side housing to a standard t3 5 bolt housing.....what i have now is a mercedes t3 42/48 turbo but the flange for the DP is odball, so would all i need is a t3 42/48 housing from a garrett/turbonetics turbo and bolt it right up, or do i need to chance the blade as well?

It should be a 4 bolt flange for the downpipe.. Why not just get the 4 bolt flange and keep the turbo that way it is?

the DP flange is a 5bolt, and i already had a DP custom made to fit a 5 bolt t3, and when it came i test fit it to the turbo and it was too big.

damn. sounds liek you're stuck, man. Turbonetics sells new ones - or try e-bay etc for stock used ones. OR!!..just ro get one from a JY. They'll probably sell you an entire shot turbo for $100. Think of the spare parts...lol

If I were you I would just buy a flange that fits the turbo (there are a few sellers here that carry them)...

Then cut off the flange that is on there and weld the correct flange on the downpipe! Then you can sell the flange that is on the downpipe now for a few extra bucks

^^Yeah, I had originally thought the same thing - but what if he plans to upgrade to a larger turbo. No other hot side is going ot have a flange liek that - so he'd be converting, then have to conver back to what he started with. Shitty predicament.
