Default Balancer Shaft Belt, h22

ok ive searched around and couldnt find anything...

i have to change my timming belt....but then i was talking to a buddy and we started debating if i should or not remove the other belt that inables the engine to vibrate.....(Balancer Shaft Belt)

i know everyone takes them off if they have race setups etc...but i have an everyday driver....but my buddy was explaining how he did it to an accord and there was no big vibration problems at all....but in the long run he isint sure cuz the guy sold his car so we didnt get news back....

so my question here is any one familiare with doing this and if so does it really mess the engine up in the long run? ive heard of a 5-7hp increase by doing this...

Thanks

Satan dyno'd his at 4WHP w/ the belt removed.

I removed mine, and i didn't really notice it at first, but it has just enough vibration to make the engine seem "livelier"

Take it off; you won't miss it.

wow 4whp for something you "take off" thats actually cool

but im worried that in the long run ill regret it cuz the engine will vibrate like mad and mess its self up.....

thx for the answer

Do a search, this has been covered way too many times.

The balancer shafts are strictly there for driver comfort. It doesn't do anything to harm/help the engine.
