Default finished battery relocation pics.

I just ran a big high quality welding cable from the fuse box-> starter-> battery. also ran a ground all the way back to battery. made up a couple extra engine grounds too. nothing very difficult or extravagent. (all original battery terminals/ cables, supporting brackets, etc. all removed.)

anyways to the pics of the battery in the back... the pics were huge so I put them here and it resized them a bit.

took off the axle back exhaust, and then the heat shield (3 10mm bolts) used 4 big fender washers (painted black) with lock washers and teflon nuts on 1/4" stainless bolts... it is solid as a rock. the black under it is thin high density foam so it does not tear up either car or bottom plate. I like the billet look and it is super strong, 1/2" bottom and 1/4" top w/ a little ball milling.

yeah I should take more pics of the cables/ routing up front and how I ran it under the car to be a more complete writeup... I will try to do that later when tonight in the garage. this was just a quicky cause I liked the new billet tie down setup I installed.

I bought that billet setup on ebay... it for optima battery's. I searched optima battery box. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW is the guy I found had the best price and quality... shipped fast

my dad/ brother own an union electrical shop here and so they got me some welding cable that super fine stranded that is a 2 gauge... got a thick *** heavy rubber jacket on it. I also was going to use stereo cable but decided to go this route cause the extra durability of the jacketing. stereo cable is ok you just have to run the wire more carefully, if it gets chaifed that clear polyester/ vinyl jacket is not quite as restistant to damage. btw mine is ran under the car and not through the inside.

run the biggest wire you can get to fit.. at least 2 imo but if you can fit as big as 0 and get it cheap... do it.

more to come...

I will try to be as complete and detailed as possible in a writeup later when I upload the additional pictures. hopefully that will help explain better, otherwise shoot me a pm it would probably be faster than e-mail.

95accordster: thanks for the compliment... I try to do things the best I can.

edit: just found out I am going to the st. louis cards game tonight though (WOOT!)... so... probably will be late tonight.

well sorry about being a lazy ***, damn baseball games and whatnot.

anyways.

I uploaded a bunch more pics of the cable routing under the car and whatnot.

I am trying to kind of put together some info about the process but I am kinda skatterbrained right now. in the meantime if there is any specific questions feel free to ask.

looks good i did the same thing but i used red 4 gauge wire and ran it inside the car under the carpet from the starter to the battery in the trunk, used 8 gauge from the fuse box to the starter, and 10 from the fuse box to the abs fuse box. The ground cable that goes to the tranny i put a 4 gauge wire there too. I am planning on up grading to a optima yellow top battery soon. Will post pictures when cardomain stops acting up.

Looks awesome. Now the biggest question is: does your car feel more balanced in handling after the relocation? Is it worth it? Thanks.

feels better but I cannot say for sure how much it really helps... the *** of the car does not feel like its sliding as much through very hard turns. I have not really been pushing it to try and test though, cause it is so hard brakes, tires, etc.
