CRX Project-Part #2
well like in the older post i told you guys that he ended buying the crx for $240
so while i was at his house i took a few photo's of it.
anyways what do you think will need to be repaired by looking at the pictures.

**** dude, that's some serious rustage on that back 1/4. Damn i don't know, how's the engine look. If you can some serious cash together just replace all the sheet metal on that side it'll be worth it. If and only if the engine is in PRESTINE condition. But that's just me. I'd buy it for the sake of having it, but that rust is a little on the scary side. good luck.
I love crx's and everything. But that is ugly. That rust is super bad.I have never really seen it go by the gas door too. I personally wouldn't even bother with that car. Sorry

Not up for a good chalange?
I could have that body ready for primer in a week! with all new metal and no rust left.

from the looks of your post, i would say screw it and find another one, even if you have to pay a grand. That car should be for free. The only way i would say take it, is if you were awesome at bodywork and a great mechanic, or could get it for free.
You'll end up putting more into it than trying to find another CRX for a higher price.
Edit: to answer your question, you would need two rear quarter panels, make sure you get rid of every spec of rust on the door etc (so the rest doesn't rust) and take care of teh undercarage, because that gaping hole is no good. Unless you are going to do it all yourself, you'll end up paying more to get it fixed
off topic but...
crxgator love the Avatar... i use to watch that show all the time. Nobody remembers it though... Count Ducula lol i love it..

wow pretty bad, the money he spends fixing all that stuff unless he can do it himself he could of actually just got a crx with no rust
and the bottom of the car wow thats the frame area where its all rusted on the bottom

That CRX...well, I wouldn't take it if it were free...honestly.
The rear quarters are bad enough by themselves, let alone the underside of the car having HOLES in it!!! Wouldn't touch it, personally!

lets just say, i've seen worse..
the crx i almost was going to buy was rusted on the rear quarters all the way through, and the front quarters all the way through, the doors sills were also rusted through, so were parts of the doors.. so...... fix it.. or get one without rust.

No way is it fixable my friend, it is tore up lol, it would cost about 1k on the low end to even have a good metal fab. specialist to fix the important stuff.... one bad bump could poke a hole in the tire with a rusty edge lol....looks to me like its been sittin in some water for too long lol
Well it looks like you have yourself a parts car if that. That CRX is never going to see the road. The frame rust on the underside pretty much finalises that. I had a 89 Sedan that I was going to restore. There was some minor frame rust, not even cllose to what you have on your CRX, and I took it to a mechanic to check it out. He told me that it would be $1000 to get it fixed. I went to a bunch of other places and they all said the $1000 - $1200 to fix it. You are better off to get it out of your hands.
On the other hand I need a parts CRX. If you want to sell it and drive it to my house in Kitchener I will give you what you paid for it

i would say that car would be a great pick up for $240 if only the rust was on the side of the rear 1/4/.... but seeing that its eaten thru the under the car.... i dont know.... i pretty sure its bigger than what it seems... i would just part it out.... its done for...
