Rear disc problems. Swirling from pads onto disc
Hey guys,
I got these large 11 inch rear discs. they worked fine untill on started to have brake squel when pressure was applied. I recalled these kind of problems are solved thru disc resurfacing/machining/turning (same thing different name) and some new pads. So i went and bought AEM hi performance pads (they were sold out of Hawk pads) after the resurfacing and installation the rear brakes would make this loud wailing sound under no pressure on the brake pedal. even at a slow pace of under 5 mph it was deafening. When I lightly press the pedal (not enough to slow the car) the sound would go away.
Then I noticed after a day of trying to figure out the problem (i lubed teh sliders, pistons, pads etc) that one side was making to most noise. see the pics below. I have never seen this happen to brakes. Although my experience is limited to one semester at a Junior College taking a auto course in brakes and doing tons of brake jobs for the class. any ideas what causes this and only one side? what should I do? I had to revert to my old brake pads (luckily they still had life left)
and a close up

looks kind of cool to me
, I would say check your brake system and bleed it so there is no air in the lines. Also how long have you had these pads and rotors? Sometimes they take a long time to break in. Just a thought, sorry if it wasn't help.

Sorry but no. not to question your knowledge but have you personally machined rotors? well from my experience, when done properly, they have a matte finish. and both rotors had this finish. before use

take the pads off and make sure there is nothing between the pad and rotor, doesnt look like the pad is sitting right.
i really dont see how someone could incorrectly resurface rotors. The machine does everything.

i'm saying it looks like the tool they used to resurface it was loose and was vibrating while the machined it . or like 2.0l ek said the pads may not be sitting right and vibrating
