spoon vs tein
i guess better quality and better for lowering and handling at budget cost although i did speak with someone from spoon and they said the s techs and luxury line springs ( maybe??
) are made in taiwan now and arent the quality that most tein coilovers are that tein made them in taiwan with cheaper products and also so they could produce more for U.S. customers at a cheaper rate ( as far as payin there taiwan employees). so ima go with the spoon progressives just thought i would share the info since i found it suprising.

springs aren't that expensive. comfort and a bit of performance: progressive rate. performance for autocross, tracking: linear rate + a good alignment.
otherwise, keep it stock and get a good alignment.

Nope.
The Japs tend to use cheap materials, which will lead to sagging and possibly breakage. Plus, they are typicall at least 5-7% off quoted rate.

I dont think calling them japs was respectful but anyways, I had kg/mm springs with stock shocks in the past. Didnt have a problem with sagging, in fact I thought they were the best springs ive ever had. Ive used Eibachs before on my GC coilovers and they are horrible. Just my opinion.

I've seen dozens of spoon parts that had some defect or another. Not to mention the fact that everything they sell is beyond over-priced. Take their C/F items for example. It's really cheap stuff they use and hardly worth even 1/2 the price they sell for retail. Mugen C/F items are undoubtly top notch. The weaves on mugen's C/F pieces are perfect. None of them splintering and all extremely tight.
One of the worst cases of spoon's lack in quality control was my friends C/F snorkle intake. There were 2 HUGE misweaves and ripples in the c/f. To try and repair it, they added a patch of C/F to it and they let that thing sell. Another person I know had the exhaust that hit the rear suspension arm mounting point. Pretty major if you asked me. If I had to pick either mugen or spoon, hands down mugen.

Keep in mind that KG/MM, Tein, Spoon, Espilir, etc. etc. are not spring manufacturers. They simply buy springs and have their name put on them. They really have no control over the QC at all.
I`m not trying to turn this into a "buy eibach' thread (s2k springs are not even in stock haha), juts giving you guys a little more info. If you are happy with what you have on your car, than more power to you...

I see breakage, not our`s of course. But it does happen quite often. We cycle test quite a few springs from other manufacturers and they can and do break from time to time. Pretty ugly!

Never seen or heard of spring failure unless the springs were modified. Crazy stuff.
