Default obd2 distributor wiring to obd0 plugs

Hey, I have a p28 ecu , 88 crx hf , and a d16y8 distributor. Im trying to connect the obd2 distributor wires to the obd0 end of my plugs but the obd2 has 8 wires(tan, white with blue stripes, grey, white, blue, black with yellow stripe, tan with blue stripe, tan with green stripes). My obd0(9 wires total) end has black with yellow stripe, two white wires, white with blue stripe, tan with blue stripe, blue with yellow stripe, dark blue wire, tan wire, light blue wire. Can someone tell me the which wire goes to which since they got some differences. Thanks!

Are you building a conversion harness? Or purchasing(ed) one?

It all depends on the conversion harness your using.. The one that I built myself just matched color for color.. But if your not using a conversion harness then you can just put a obd2 dizzy on a obd0 car..

you would need the clip from the y8 engine harness that goes to the distributor as well...

You can do that but its twice as much soldering. Get some obd 2 plugs and go from there.

Aight what they are tellin u to do is:
1. the grey plug, get the other part, that is on the engine harness, cut the wires long enough to solder and reattach to more wires.

2. Plug them up like you would do if you were installing the dizzy on the car.
3. Then once u find out which wires on the OBD 2 harness correspond with the OBD0 wires solder them together.
4. install Dizzy on car and plug up OBD0 male and female plugs.

There you have basically built a conversion harness.

PLEASE, IF I AM WRONG SOMEONE CORRECT ME.

Yah i see what your saying, what i wanna do is forget about the conversion harness and do the wiring without it because im so broke and i cant afford it. even tho it might be like 50 cents.I just want to know which wires go to witch so i can wire it up without the harness plug part from an obd2 engine

Was this distributor purchased from Distributor king or somewhere other than the dealer? Many of those wires are non OEM color that do not match the ETM or Service manual. Try this and let me know.

OBd2-------------------Function--------------------------OBD0

Tan----------------------CYPP--------------------------Thin White
White/Blue--------------TDCM-------------------------White/Blue
Grey---------------------CYPM-------------------------Blue/Yellow
White--------------------CKPM-------------------------Tan
Blue---------------------CKPP--------------------------Blue
Black/Yellow------------IG Coil------------------------Black/Yellow
Tan/Blue----------------TDCP--------------------------Tan/Blue
Tan/Green***----------ICM----------------------------Fat White***
N/A----------------------RPM Tach----------------------Dark Blue

It is my feeling that most of your "TAN" wires are also commonly referred to as"PEACH" or "ORANGE" as well. Try this out and let me know. On the OBD2 distributors, the tach wire is not present from there. You can tee the dark blue wire into the yel/green wire.

*** On this one, I believe that you "TAN" wire here is rather Yellow in color just dirty maybe?

Ok, Would anyone know what the P and M mean after (CKPM or CKPP)?
And for the Obd-0 side does anyone know which sensor are P and M??

Obd-0 to Obd-2
orange--lite blue Crank Sensor Input----Crankshaft Position Sensor P (CKPP)
orange/blue--orange/blue TDC sensor Input---TDCP
blue/green--orange CYL sensor input---Cylinder Position P (CYPP)
white--yellow/green ICM---ICM
white/blue--white/blue TDC Sensor Input--TDCM
blue/yellow--blue/yellow CYL Sensor Input-- Cylinder Position M (CYPM)
white--white Crank Sensor Input---Crankshaft Position M (CKPM)

*Note: orange is refer as peach

The problem is that you do not have OEM colors on all the wires. Therefore, the only real way for me to tell is to open the distributor and trace where each wire goes. If you want to open it up and take some pics, let me know. I am replying back to your email asap.
