Help!!!!911 My clutch pedal moved to the right and its wont shift into gear now!!!!
I was in my car and next thing you know it wont go into gear then I turned it off and it goes into gear while its off butt when I turn it back on it wont go in. So I look at the pedal and its all the way to the left on a angle and I press it but its like not even reacting. If this ever happened to anyone?!!!Help asap!
I looked at it but I dont see that it snapped anywhere but I am just going to buy a new one anyway just to be sure. Anyone else think they might know what it is?
The bracket that holds the clutch pedal is notoriously known to break. Usually when it breaks a weld it goes to the left when you push down on the pedal.
its in the top left corner of this pic.

youre pedal went to the left.
Mine did once, because the weld on the plate that holds the clutch pedal broke. You could look up there just to check, could be why its to the left.
Make sure clutch cable is still attached to top of clutch pedal, its should be hooked on, maybe it popped off.
maybe this helps.
thanx

If the cable is connected then it should be connected to the pedal because i think that the pedal at the top has no cable but its also bent to the side. If anyone out there has a 4 door ef 90-91 I'll trade you man I want a 4 door. If interested I'll let you know wut my hatch has.
anyone got a better "real life" pic of where the welds typically break? I just put an act kit in and would like to weld over stock locations just to insure it'll hold for a long time.
Anyone?

Will check today! Anybody else please post just incase I need some more help or if anybody else thinks it might be something else let me know! Thanks
To me it sounds like the clutch pedal bracket broke. This happened to me a few weeks ago. The pedal just started to bend towards the footrest and it stopped going into gear. I dont have a pic, but mine snaped right at the rod that holds the clutch pedal part of the assembly to the rest of the pedals. Its a pain to get out, but it can be welded back together fairly easily
yea just checked mine and it isnt the clutch cable so im assuming its the pedal!! Someone said it was mt tranny but I guess they are wrong or atleast I hope so!! Thanks guys for the help!

Been there, done that. Its one of those things where if you've never done it, it can be a bitch, but if u have experience, its not that hard. You will have to order the pedal assembly bracket. It comes bare, so u will have to transfer everything over, such as your pedals, springs, bushings etc. When i bought it new from honda, it was about 90$. I also reinforced it with a 1 inch thick pipe welded in behind the original 1/4 thick hollow one. Hopefully, this bitch is bullet proof now.

Its a real pain to get that thing out of there the first time. Dont forget to pull out the heating ducts out under that are that thing will not come out. Found that out the hard way after 20 min of tugging
here you go...

part is about $160 new from honda.
tip1. easiest if you remove dash and drop steering column
tip2. like stated above remove the heat duct plastics
tip3. keep a LONG extension and swivel end to remove the most left upper nut.
PATIENCE is key here. first time i did this it took me a very long time. ive done it a few times since on couple other cars in a few hours.

Si_Racer...so it's that bolt sticking off the left that bent and broke?
I'm still kind of confused...is there anyway to get a mig up there and reinforce it before it breaks and you have to remove it?

Sorry folks i have no pics of it. Maybe i can sneak it under the dash and take one with the flash? I will try tomorrow. Mine did not bend/break in the same spot as the pic posted above. The 1.5 (approx.) long shaft to the RIGHT on the bent one is where mine broke. It separated from one of left or right wall...i for got which side exactly. I will have to check that too (since i save the old one). So look at the bar/shaft i am referring to and picture a piece of SOLID 1 inch thick bar welded parallel to it. So if u are looking at mine from the same angle as the pic, you would see the small bar like u already do, and behind it you would see a big motha i had welded in. I will see tomorrow about that pic.
edit: I did this while the piece was out of the car. I dont think its wise to do it while its installed, it could get ugly

ok i know what your talking about. that happened to mine as well. if you look in the pic of the bent when you can see where i previously had welded it.
