will a 95 GSR fit in a 95 civic ex
will a 95 GSR fit in a 95 civic ex what do i need to make it happen planing on doing swap.. need to know axles motor mounts wire harness etc...??? my friend said the gsr wire harness is same as my ex??? is it or not? my civic has a p28 ecu should i use that or the one from the gsr? friend say stick with p28 what do you guys think?i would apppreciate anyones help.
I would like to say search too, but i'll help you out.
A gsr swap is an easy bolt in affair. you really dont need much to make it work.
you'll need engine (duh), tranny, b-series axles, gsr shift linkage, keep stock motor mounts, keep civic engine harness (its plug and play compatible with the gsr since your ex is already wired up for vtec). search for threads created by user b18c5-eh2, he can confirm this for you.
as for the ecu...it depends on what you plan on doing to the motor. Yes your friend is correct by saying you should use the p28 ecu, but only if you plan on buying a Skunk 2 (single runner) intake manifold. If you decide to keep the stock (dual runner) intake manifold from the gsr, you should use the p72 ecu. here is a dyno run for user xxazntaggerxx https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1000979 comparing the p28 ecu and p27 ecu. basically, the p28 and p72 will yield the same peak hp, but because the gsr has a dual runner intake manifold, running a p28 ecu cause you to lose hp in the midrange because the secondaries will not open up (whereas running a p72 will open up the secondaries giving you the mad vTacK powa!)
oh and one more thing. the stock gsr header will not reach the civic cat, youd have to get a muffler shop to make you an extension. or your other option is to find a b16 header (either from 94-97 del sol vtec or 99-00 si). that will bolt up fine to your civic cat.
hope this helps.

YES!! - Almost the easiest swap that there is - truly bolt in! - just need to make sure you have all of the components from the GSR.
hey thanx alot that really helped i wasnt sure what i needed 100% i thought i would get some second opinions well you know anyways thanx alot
