Default 6 point roll bar finally done with swing outs.

Got to give it up for the chassis guy I took the car to. Came highly recommended. Has a huge background in building Pro-Stock chassis's and has even built some Pro-Stock Truck truck chassis's for Jegs back when they ran the trucks.

Droped the car off on a Thursday morning. Called me Monday morning to come pick it up. $150 a point, $200 for the swing out kits installed. All chromolly.

The area above the shock towers is not considered a point, so there was no charge. He said he just wanted to tie into as many strong areas as he could and still keep the weight down.

This 6 point was built and installed with the intentions to be added on to later down the road to comply with 10 point rules. No extra charge.

Seats are UltraShield aluminium race seats. It a local company here in Tyler. If you can come into there busisness, they will custom build the seats to your measurements at NO EXTRA CHARGE. The guy that owns and runs the busisness is the same guy that started up RCI back in the 80's. He then sold out, took some time off, got board, and started UltraShield.

$150 a point out of chromolly (lighter)
$35 per swing out lit (2)
$130 to modify the side bar and brace and weld in the swing outs.

Did a lot of checking around and for the experience, quality, and background, was cheaper than most for chromolly.

pics working??

So just to clarify that would be 6 X 150 = 900 for just the 6 point

I contacted Kens Custom Chassis and SW racecars both want 450 for a 10 point chromoly. But the swingouts look really great I heard its hard to get those to look good.

BTW any info on the seats i.e. cost, contact #

Looked into both places. My problem was the sidebar to seat clearance issues. A straight bar would not work. Not to mention, if you have to pay someone to weld it in, the cost go up considreably.

Have had some friends get the pre-bent cage kits, some fit great and some need coaxing and modifying to get to work. I just wanted a hassel free, NHRA compliant rollbar/cage that I didnt have to worrie about.

I think that price is a great deal, there's alot of time involved in fitting and welding in a cage. The $450 cage doesn't just jump in there when it gets to your doorstep! lol

http://www.ultrashieldrace.com/ Unfortunatly they dont list prices. My seats were 130-140 each with covers. About the same as Kirkley's. Saved on the shipping due to the fact they are local for me, and since I'm 6'1 at 240lbs, a off the shelf seat wouldnt work. They measured me in the seat and made the modification to the seat to fit me for no extra charge. Will do that for anyone.

belive it or not, they are not bad at all. Of course they are firm (only have a 1 1/2 foam pad under you) , but kinda fit like Del Sol seats. I would actually consider them for a daily driver, if I didnt drive a Ford truck. The side bolsters/wings are alot nicer than I thought they would be. they hold you with out cramping you.

check out these cages...I just had one installed in my DC2

All clevice points full removable. I know its not sanctioned to be "NHRA LEGAL" but for your everyday test and tune nights, you can get away with it

Picture of it before installed in vehicle

Its an awesome powdercoat finish. The texture of it is almost like factory

joints gotta be welded. The only bolt in points can be where it attaches to the floor.

Comfort is great and as for the weight, never weighed them, but I'm gonna guess and say around 10lbs with out mounting hardware. Can easily carry around with one hand, hell, can toss them around with no effort

The cage and seats look great! I was just reading your old post yesterday when you first put the stock gsr in and went 11.4 at only 8.5 psi. in this car! Do you have any new times for the car since your motor build-up?

Will I believe that will not pass tech well at least NHRA for sure.. becuase thier not suppose to be bends its should be straight.. becuase if you ever crash thats were its going break and go right tru you..

I think thats a good price...can't compare a kit that comes in a box to a custom setup that is actually welded into the car. Labor costs money too

I like the seats also...look like kirkey but not so fugly. If I hadn't of just dropped a ton of cash on some sparco's I would definately look into those.
