i saw that issue with the h23vtec. the h22 wieghs aobut 80lbs more than bseries. and unlike the b18 it isn't a direct drop in in ek's you can just aremove the motor mounts on the eg's you'll have to grind the tranny side on off then bolt up the new one. On my ek i have everything so i could go back it's kinda hard to go back on an eg. So you'll have to commott yourself to it fully. H22 torque is nice also.

There should be no cutting with Hasport or Place Racing. They pretty much make it a bolt in procedure.

As far as axles go....i've heard it's important to get them done RIGHT the first time. I'm doing a h22 swap too...and that was of concern to me. But I'm also getting it done at ImportBuilders and Jeff (ImportReview) has the experience. He told me he does em with Place Racing mounts and custom axles.

With the HASport kit, you need to hack off the passenger side mount on the chassis. With the HCP mount, you use that mount. I just installed the HCP EG-22 prototype front mount (beam, similar to Z10 ****) and have been running with that for a week now... feels better than before and traction has improved a bit. But basically, no cutting inside the engine bay with the HCP mounts. You'll have to to some other cutting for the cable linkage but that's it.

I don't touch Place ****.

Hydroflip, in a back issue of Turbo Magazine, the Nov. 2000 one, they have a civic in there that has the set up your talking about and it's pushing 593 horses to the wheels. Also a couple of months ago in Sport Compact mag they did the H22 swap into a 92 Cx if I'm not mistaken. It's the issue with the 400 horsepower street cars on the front. Just a couple of things you might want to look at to get some ideas. Plus Newman seems to know his stuff so I would listen to anything he has to say.

my friend had a turbo h22 in his eg. he made the mounts himself he made the turbo kit himself he had: home made manifold, t3/t4b, i think like a thunder bird stock intercooler or something like that, all homemade piping, homemade 3inch exhaust turbo-back. stock block, pistons, rods everything. he ran a 12.7 with a horrible 60 ft(because of traction problems)on drag radials spinning the wheels all through 1st and 2nd, 7lbs of boost. broke a couple of axles in the process. there is a picture of his car (very small) in the january 2002(this months) super street. it is on page 146 top left picture. he is the 4th car back on the right side, the teal eg.
