Default Theives and Alarm Systems

Sup,
i always heard if a thief wants your car or parts he can get them, although what do you think about back up battery? I heard u can puta back up battery in the trunk that way the thief has to be in contact with both the battery under the hood and trunk in order to disable it. What do you think? Thanks

Why do you have two diff threads w/ almost the same question? It would help if you searched a little more, there is so much info on h-t about security systems. If thieves really want ur car, u wont be able to stop them, but I will say jus like i said in the other one, layers of security are what makes a diff.

bro, i say look into a 2-way system. most work in a 2 mile range and tell you if the remotes are geting out of range.
if your car alarm goes off, it will let your remote know via pager style.
cant offer any brand names, but just reserach 2-way alarms.
i think the more extensive ones will let you know if it just went off or if something actually broke (glass)

also with the 2-way system, can i add remote start, ignition cut, and a back-up battery to that? or it won't be compatible. because i've been stressed lately due to the face my car is in the mall parking lot 930am to 930pm with out checking on it or anything. We have security, but they suck.

An alarm itself won't do much to stop theives. It is a good start though. Yes you can add all that stuff depending on the alarm model. Best would be to do the alarm, autolock (or two), at least one kill switch (fuel kill is easy) and hide it well, hood lock (or relocate the release cable and block it off at the front). There's plenty others you can do. Make sure you have wheel locks too if you wanna keep your wheels.
