new motor break in
almost done installing an over bore kit. how do i break it in? manufacture recommends an low rpm break in followed by not using more then 1/2 throttle for the first 500 miles and not more then 3/4 throttle for the next 500 miles or something like that. Ive herd other people say you need to get on the motor HARD for the first 20 miles so that the rings and cylinder wall ware together. Pref on a dyno or track. what do you think???

Ride it like you stole it. Best way would be on a dyno and a couple bottles of oil.
Just ride it like normal and take care of it. Don't worry too much. Things are gonna fail eventually. At least bikes are easier to work on. I burned my new clutch in 4 months doing stupid crap. I installed new clutch discs and just rode with no problem.
an engine builder for suzuki GP bikes told me that when you slam the motor during break in it pushes the rings into the honing groves in the cylinder making a beter seal for a beter compression in the end.
anyone know?
anyone know?

listen to him i guess? its really debatable, the only way to find out would be to take 2 brand new bikes and try both methods; whichever yields better comp numbers would maybe be the better method?

You have to heat cycle the bike. Ride it let it cool, ride it some more then let it cool. This helps the rings seat which is what "breaking in the engine" is. I think normal riding while doing this will work fine.

I tend to agree with this guy. I change the oil after a few miles then again after a few hundred and again at around 1000. I don't beat the **** out of the bike but I do rev it up and use plenty of engine breaking. No constant speeds and everything seems to be doing well for me so far.
