Default prepping EG skirts for paint?

I am going to paint my eg skirts to match my car, I was wondering what the process would be to sand them past the textured plastic and get them smooth enough to paint?

Hey, the best thing man is to take them off, clean them w/comet (the powder household cleaner) and a gray scotch-brite pad, with water . Then unless you are familiar with bodyshop materials. Your best bet Is to take to a body shop to have painted. If you can paint them your self then, Dry them real good and prime w/flexible primer for plastics, let dry then wet sand for dry sand w/p600 paper or finer. then clean real well w/prep cleaner. dry then paint.

awesome thanks! Is the key step the flexible primer? How many coats of primer, paint, clear coat?

Thanks again
