Well...mostly OEM

Y8 motor
Head is PNP
Zex Street/strip cam, Ti retainers/springs
PM6 pistons
PG6 rods
F4I ITBs
2 layer Y8 headgasket

CR came out to be roughly 10.4:1

Then just the basic Header/2.25" exhaust, and tuning.
I will be using either turboedit, or just a plain old PM6 with a VAFC.

?

Thanks anyways, but I want to keep this as OEM as possible, for reliability and $ wise as well.

looks decent but i would want compression to be more around the 11.5:1 range and i hope its not a daily driver, cause daliy driver and itb's dont mix well.

I was going to use PM7 pistons but that gives me a 12.5CR which I think is just a little too high for a street car. Still undecided tho.

I've talked to 3 people that have had ITBs on their D series so far, and all of them said it would be fine for a DD. Even a TypeR with the 40mm bodys said you couldn't even tell it had ITBs until WOT. Its only as reliable as you can make it.

lol I bet the people with ITB's werent running a stock ecu with a VAFC.....

You will NEVER get your car to idle nicely, you will 100% be able to tell something is up unless you go with something other than the bandaid hack as for as management

dude... WTF did I say? Hrmm..."Turboedit". I know very well what I'm doing, and the idle for one is just based off the stock idle adjustment screw for the F4I. The only thing you really have to modify with the map is the last three colums of the fuel table since it doesn't take much throtal angle to reach atmosphere. I have a innovate wideband and will be doing the tuning my self.

As far as the hack goes...

they early 86-87 d16 teg pistons are about 11.4:1

Ooo. I guess I could just do all A1 internals then. Do you know if the 88-89 pistons are the same as the 86-87?

I don't think Honda carries a specific Y8 head gasket.
Last time I checked the Y8 and Z6 both have the same part numbers.
I'm not sure how many layers the gasket is though.

Its a three layer gasket I believe you have to remove the middle layer to have a 2 layer..

The PG6 rods are way beefier than any late model D series. If I had a pic I would show ya...

I will actually be using the stock 3 layer gasket. I made up my mind on the pistons and will be using PM7s, so the stocker will do fine.

a1 pistons of the 88-89 variety will yield a compression >12.5:1. I'd stick with the a6 pistons and swap the zex cam for an exospeed stage 3. That should work nicely with the itb's

Yeah and they're about the same size as the Z6, ZC, Y8...ect.

The PG6 is the largest of the D16 series rods.

I'm keeping the Zex cam mainly because it came with the head. And PM7s will net a CR of about 12.2 with a .048 gasket. I wouldn't use the A1 pistons because the valve releifs are tiny.
