Default New Sparco Evo 2 - Sparco Evo L !!

jus picked up my seat today. i at first thought i got the wrong seat judging by the "L". but i looked at the FIA sticker, it said EVO 2.

then i called up sparco just to make sure and see if they made any new changes. they said the "L" stands for large and the EVO3 will become the EVO XL. the material is a little different, "better" says the sparco dude... and he said the padding was a bit stiffer. he said they changed the name for the new 2004 ones.

i guess im one of the firsts.

The fabric is different. The old ones didn't say sparco on the back and the fabric didn't come down over the harness slots. Here is a pic of my evo2 from the back. I love the evo seats. I can't imagine not having it.

Can you explain what's "different" about the fabric?
Is it thicker? more durable feeling? thinner? or just a change of appearance.

I'm currently speaking with someone about a used seat, but might reconsider if the newer fabric is somehow "better". I think I'd actually prefer to not have the sparco on the back of the seat (or the front for that matter).

i have never sat in an older EVO2 myself so i have no frame of reference. but the padding is definately stiff, not bad stiff.. but the "hold you in" stiff. sparco material feels really good.. doesnt seem cheap or will tear easy... feels awesome. and if you look at the older evo2s, the fabric on the back stops above the harnesses holes but you can see that mines goes past the holes. and of course it says sparco on the back.

again i have no frame of reference, just giving my critique on this seat.

I'm 36" waist and my evo2 is a little wide. I personally like the evo1 better but couldn't pass the 2 since I only paid $165 shipped for it.
