Default d15b vtec problems

recieved this motor from HMO, very pleased with teh motor, clean, nice and out of an auto ...but the distributor was bad, thats ok, i made my 92-95 civic dx's work for now. oh yeah, and i need an o2 sensor.

anyways went to drive it just now, runs good, but its running limp (fuel cut at 3500 ). the codes its throwin are TDC sensor, anyone know how to fix this?? maybe its the dizzy???

and its throwin an injector code???? how its smooth and everything... could it be from the limp modes' fuel cut??

the last code is just the o2 one?? help me out guys....oh yeah and its a bitch to start.... i think thats the TDC sensor code, because that deals with cranking timing. guys give me your input!thanks

your tps wires could possibly be wrong, try switchin the outers. the code is most likely from your distributor being the wrong one and it might be your overall problem. mess with it a lil bit

hey, i just finished my d15b vtec swap. Everything is done, but im still waiting for my tps sensor to arrive. I tried starting the car up w/o having a tps sensor thinking it might just idle rough?? Anyways...it won't start. Turns over fine, just wont start. Is this cuz of the tps..or lack there of i should say? Or is my problem somewhere else. Thanks in advance

HMO wouldn't send you another dizzy? They sent me a coil when I told them mine was bad from the d15b I bought from them. I also had the o2 sensor code. I switched to a cold air intake and moved my timing back to the factory setting instead of fully retarded. It has helped so far.

I don't think the internals are transferrable in the odb-0 to odb-1 dizzies. I tried to used the rotor from my odb-0 dizzy and it would not fit.

alright, my car still wont start...notched all the legs on the dizzy, rotated it a bit and nearly got it to start but it wont quite fire up. I just put on my tps sensor off of my dx manifold. Is there any way this could be messing with it? Any help would be great right now! thanks in advance.

Is your car turning over but not catching? mine was doing that and it was the coil.

what do you mean by catching? It sounds like a car with a bad starter that just wont start...but the starter is new and had been working fine on old motor. I bought the dizzy used off ebay with a new cap & rotor...assuming the coil was fine. But who knows, maybe thats why the guy sold it....couldnt find out what was wrong with it. Well if its not the coil what else could it be? thanks for your help

catching meaning not starting. Just to let you know, after my d15b vtec install my starter went back too. Have you tried hitting the starting while someone cranks it? It it turns over and catching then, you may be in for that as well.

nope, but im 99% sure its not the starter. My timing's screwed....are all 3 legs supposed to fit on the z6 dizzy? only 2 of them do, but then the distributor is facing almost exactly 180 degrees the other way. this could have something to do with it.

I'm using a d15b vtec dizzy. But, I would guess so, since every replacement part I bought for the dizzy - coil, ignitor, were all for the d16z6. yeah try facing it the other way.

alright...i turned the crank so the piston on cyl #1 was all the way to the top. i hooked up that wire to the plug on the dizzy that has the etched 1 on it and made sure the rotor's in position to spark that one first. what order do the rest of the plugs go on?....im going insane

without a doubt in my mind you have a serious wiring problem... go over all of it. use a Chilton if it comes in handy
