I win the dumbass award of the day... R vs NSX
I was getting on the highway when i see a G35 and acura nsx flyby.. i'm coming down the ramp in 3rd hit 4th then 5th (remember i have the ATS final drive, so the gearing is different) i catch up to the NSX at about 85mph in 5th gear at about 6500rpms i'm all over his bumper he slows down to about 65 (i know he is about to get on it) so i do the same. i go to down shift to 4th and i my stupid *** threw it in 2nd at about 65mph
after i hit 11,000 rpms i try to throw in the clutch as fast as i can.. THANK GOD nothing happen to the motor and the car is fine..

I can almost guarantee ur car is not fine. It might drive, but u have to **** up somthing at that rpm.
Do a leak down test.....
I blew the crap outta my tranny and thought the motor was fine till it was idling like it had Toda Gs *gangsta* in it.....
I futched the hell outta cyl 4's intake valves.....

u r setting yourself up for a big flame...lol...to avoid flame...just say that u accidently shifted wrong and hit 11k rpm...no need for all the details
no..u should really check your engine...valves could be bent, retainer cracked...something...

i drove it around for about 10 mins after it happened and everything seemed to drive the same, car didn't seem down on power...

Happened to me in my Type-S. The gates are shorter too. I was catching up to my friend after we all pulled out of a street. My window was fogging up so I had to look out the bottom of my windshield. I didn't realize it then that I was 'cupping' the shifter. So when I tried to go to 4th from 3rd, I went into 2nd. My engine over-revved for a split second and my tranny was grinding. I think it revved to 10,500 RPMs. Anyways, the grinding of my tranny saved my engine. Never had a problem with the engine again.

im gonna flame for on the grounds of street racing alone. but hey.. your life.. and others at stake as well.
i think i've misshifted while on Sebring once.. looked like 11k too... did a compression test a month later and everything is fine. 240psi"ish" all the way across. here's a question... if compression test result are ok, does that mean the leak down test will yield bad/good results?

I posted this here before...seems a lot of mis-shifting going on...most likely due to improper technique...

I went from 5th to 2nd when I was rounding a corner In my CRX and I blew my distributor cap.....my car started shaking and jerking... thankfully I was on a back road......it sucked though
