Port and polish? need info bad!
ok, after consulting everyone, and much thinking... I think my next mod is going to be a port polish. right now any more bolt-ons are pointless because I'll probably have to pull them when I get a turbo.
anyway. I have a 99 civic w/ a 1.6L SOHC V-TEC.
before I even searched for a good place to get my ports polished, I got to thinking about the heads they sell in SUMMIT's catalog. whats so special about them.
can I buy already ported and polished heads for my car? what am I looking to pay?
And by the way. Since everyone on here keeps telling single cam sucks, and I'm not going to check out a perfectly good engine; can I just replace my heads w/ duel cam heads?

If you can buy Honda heads from Summit (doubt it) they are no good. They are "assembly line" jobs would still need to be touched up by hand with somebody that has a flowbench.
Don't waste money on a pnp. I seen lose in hp. Save money and get a turbo/exhaust/suspension. You're all done.
Obviously, if done incorrectly, it can have a negative effect on your air flow volume and speed. But to say it's a waste of money? BS. Get it done, and get it done correctly, you won't be disappointed.
yep those were prolly people that dont know the science to porting a cylinder head you can go crazy on a stock its just to much air it will just sit there and wont be anle to be moved if you gt a turbo a p&p is a good mod.
http://www.portflow.com your looking at about 750 for the pnp. But, you could try and find a gude head for cheap saw someone who was doing a swap and were selling the head and all goodies for 1000.
