Default quit ??? what should i do?

aiite my problem is that my 98 gsr block is $%$# up, leaking oil out of the pistion ring or some $%&*. but i'm losing a lot of oil.. should i try to fix it or should i just drop in a b20 v tec, or lsR? or jsut a regular b20? im short on fund, so what you guys think i should do? what would you guys do if you was in my situation..

if i decide to fix whatever is leaking out the oil in back of my block. does any one know a good shop in the bay area or sacramento that could rebuild my block for a fair price and good job? or do the swap for me, whatever your 2 cent could help, thanks

well really either way you go its gonna cost you a good amount of money. If you plan to rebuild your block (which is what i would do instead of the b20vtec) make sure you get all new seals and gaskets (seriously replace them all). Then cop some new pistons like p30's, pr3's, anything oem will probably be your cheapest route. Get new rings, timing belt kit, cap & rotor, s.plugs, and wires and you shouldnt really have to worry about anything else. Get something to tune the car after the rebuild and a wideband 02(this will help out because the air fuel reading for first start up is real important).

cliff notes
My opinion-stick with rebuilding the gsr
Get p30's or pr3's pistons and piston rings
get new seals and gaskets, timing belt kit, cap& rotor, s.plugs & wires, maybe even oil pump
Get vafc, uberdata, or hondata
Get wideband o2 sensor
You could get cams later on down the road and make good power with this setup

Doing it yourself would be a great way to save money, **** maybe someone on honda-tech will help you build it.

me personaly, I would get a cheap d series and drop it in while you fix your GSR motor.

The way I see it no non-vtec engine belongs in a GSR not even an ls/vtec, but hey if your short on funds do what you must.

I have never either, but im gonna get a helms manuel and take my good ol time. Im guessing for a build your gonna be looking at 500-700 bucks for a rebuild and balancing. Yea i think its around that price range.
