GSR internals in LS Block?
I have a 92 LS B18A block with a spun rod bearing.
I am getting a 2K B18C1 block with 50K on it with a broken motor mount boltholes.
I want to take out all the GSR internals and bolt them into the LS block.
I believe this is possible and I am sure I can bolt everything up but just want to make sure. I plan on going NOS or turbo later on.

you can do this but i would just have the bolt hole repaired.. you can have a good welder do this and insert a steel sleeve. the gsr block is a much nicer block.
i dont think its worth it.if your doing turbo or nitrous stay with the ls internals.it has a lower cr if im not mistaking. and if your going all motor the gsr pistons might help but not by much.i dont think its worth it.

well this is tru that the ls has lower compression but the point of having the gsr block is that it is a much stronger block from the factory so it has more braces in the block and it has better rods better bearings so take the advice most everyone would give you... sell the ls block and fix the gsr.... and one thing that most people dont know is that the gsr block has oil squirters that spray the bottom of the piston which is designed to cool the piston. if you are running any kinda of boost or nitrous it puts lots of heat on the piston.... so thats my 2 cents...
anyone else feel the same way?

Sorry, I forgot to mention I am only getting a GSR short block.
The car has been through CA ref with a LS and is carb legal as an OBD0 LS.
Also dropping in the GSR block would require a rewire to OBD1 and going through ref again and finding a head, manifolds and ECU.
If I got a complete GSR then I would drop it in and rewire.
