maximum effort for minimum gain. in other words yes you can swap a vtec head onto the d15 but is it worth it?
just a Q but why is a swap out of the question?

Well the swap is out of the question is because i can not afford a 3000 dollar motor that is why,and i dont have the time or place to do the swap in the car, that is why i was thinking about going with a like a head because i could do that in a weekend, but what kinda of head should i get you said vtec,is it going to be for the 1.6 or what?just a question, but yes i own a 4 door civic and i love it,because you can haul some people and then go and race it and beat most of the cars you race, but you dont see that many around so that is why i got one so i could be the first one to do it in my town.
LOL HELL YEA DUDE! You'd be suprised how fast these "little" 1.5's can go! I got intake and gettin exhaust put on soon. and damn dude it still hauls ***.

Yea i know a little about them and i have done everything on my car by my self, i have it lowered and short shifter, intake,Apex cat back, intake, header, and it is funny when you go over to the drags and or just race a guy around town the look and say it is just a 4 door civic untill you beat them.and they give you the funnist look when you beat them.but i just want a little more power that is why i was asking about a head conversion on it.
you shouldn't have to spend $3000 on an engine. you could probably do a 1st gen b16 for under $2k. Especially DIY. maybe even less than that.
Well is that just for the motor?that would be kinda of a good deal if it is everything, but if it just the motor i would still have to get the computer, maybe the harness, what about my tranny?would it work with that motor?see that is what i am thinking about, there is a lot of little stuff that brings the price up a lot,i know that because i am used to building race cars, for dirt track racing, oval track, not with hondas,
try honda motors online. you can get a complete (that's tranny, ECU, and harness) 1st gen b16 (Sir1) for 1600 bucks plus shipping. I know the first gen b16 is not preferable for the 5th gen Civic chassis, but it's hella cheap.
You can even get an H22 for $2600. Throw in the HASport kit (under $1k i think) and you're flying!
Think about it.
