Default My 1/8 mile time slip

This was the first time that i have taken my car to the track. I didn't get to go to the 1/4 mile, but the 1/8 was fun; to say the least. I was actually expecting to hit a 9 point something but it didn't work out.

I was using some cheap general brand tires 195/50/15 at 30psi. My car is a crx with a b16 swap I/E/ and very soon H, tokico illumina shocks on GC coilovers; I had the shocks set on 5 all around. full interior including a sound system. Please analyze my slip and give me some good pointers on how I can do better next time.

This time slip was my best run and it was against my friends WS6(LS1)
Sorry I couldn't make the slip any smaller.

The only reason I took my freind off the line is because he spun through first and second. He got better times after; he started doing 8.8's and 8.6's.

Something's not right with your car and/or driving. Obviously your 60 ft's are pretty bad but your trap is low as well. I trap 76mph at kennedale with a stock b16 in my 92 VX, 2.2-2.3 60ft (thats on 175 width cooper tires). I have an intake and no cat - VX exhaust. What rpm are you launching at? Unless you have a CRX Si with a tremendously heavy stereo something's not right.

i cant see the slips, and what do you mean only revving to 3k?? was that at the launch....but you should def be in the 9 sec 1/8 time, i run 9.3@77 in the 1/8th with 2.2 60's.

edit nevermid i see them now.

I was launching at 3k, but i now realize that i should have been launching at a higher rpm and shifting a little past 8k instead of a little below.

just remember you want the car to spin a little when you launch, stay away from bogging.
