If you are building it to go drag racing you would probably want to put an GM automatic in it like a powerglide or turbo 400. The transmission fits in this car with no cutting whatsoever which makes for a great install. There is so much room in that car it is the easiest swap to do. Expect to pay between $2500- $4000 for a tranny that is super strong. The price will change depending on what parts yoou decide to use. Don't go for a $1000 automatic because you get what you pay for. Someone just put a TH400 transmission and converter from Select in a 350Z and they went really fast on the first time out. Save yourself a lot of money in the long run by spending you're money the right way in the first place.

ok, first off, i never said what kind of car i am using

and no, im not building a car to drag race, im building a car out of pure boredom, and tired of the lack of imagination people have anymore. i just thought the drag forum was the best place to ask b/c there are more guys in here with RWD cars than anywhere else on the forum (minus Kills, but they dont count)

i think a lot of people sleep on the TURBO 350. thats what we've used in a couple of apllications. and had worked really really well. i think its better than a powerglide. if you are gonna bracket race a powerglide is what i would use. but since your building a car out of shear boredem just go with a g-force,lenco,liberty or jerico trans.

If you want 6 speeds...you want a TH400 with the GV Overdrive Kit.

Go T56 for a street car. You are gonna pay big bucks for any Lenco, Jerico, Liberty transmission.
If you are interested in one then PM me. My father owns a transmission repair business dealing with only domestic rwd cars and he has a couple sitting on the shelf freshly rebuilt.

G-force just doesn't make racing trannies. they also have street trannies as well that are 5-6 speed and geared anyway you want. i think the prices on them range from $2,500 remanf. to $5,000.00.

let me dig up my price sheet and i can tell you exactly which is better and for what price.

Oh and everyone probably thought you were referring to a drag racing transmission, because you're in a drag racing forum.

Why don't you tell us what kind of car you are using then? Also how much power do you expect it to handle and what kind of driving do you want to do? I think everyone here is thinking over 400hp. Be specific or don't be all upset when people make assumptions.

Knowing Sam, prolly a railbuggy with his spells of being bored.

I hope you can get your info Sam, but i think they will be more worried about what you are using, rather than just answering.

BTW, Lenco
