Default RSX-S: Using Aftermarket Deck with Stock Amp

I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find a thread on it.

Is installing an aftermarket unit in a type-s and using the existing amp as simple as unplugging RCAs from the stock unit and plugging them into the aftermarket (i doubt it).

Is there a way to bypass the stock amp and use the aftermarket deck's amp to power the richbass woofer?

I've been hunting high and low and haven't found an answer for either situation.

what you could try doing is either bypassing the factory amp and using a low level output to feed the sub channel off the factory amp (the factory amp would still run the sub), or you could try to splice the RCA outputs from your deck into each speaker input on the factory amp...
