Spot free welding?

Default Spot free welding?

I'm building a set of picture frames for some ITR brochures I have.

It is a wood frame with aluminum on top of it. I'm securing the aluminum to the wood using threaded rod with nuts. The rod goes through the wood and the nut is on the backside. Could the rod be welded to the aluminum (90* angle) without the aluminum getting discolored on the other side (face side).

TIA, I'm at school right now and can't call around here until tomorrow.

no, the Al melts @ a lower temp than the bolt does. Just use Epoxy, Liquid Nails or super glue. Liquid Nails is less brittle than the super glue and epoxy.
