Default Update on my integra after accident.

To those many HT brothers who showed concern, its is now all final. The teg is gone. It is now residing at Blue Motors salvage yard, at least whats left of it. Progressive insurance company called it a total loss, paid me some, i bought it back for $100 from them, then immediately sold it again to Blue motors who offerred to take it off my hands and pay me cash on the spot.

So thats it for my teg... and yes, i do miss it alot.

Now for the good news... I took the settlement and used it as a downpayment for my new car. Flint Mica colored Scion tC. I bought it just 2 hours ago and just barely got around to gettin on my pc to tell you all here. I drove it home, and i'm very happy!

A first impression from my drive home, i would say its a little heavier than expected, but the torque more than makes up for it. The head clearance in the back is about the same as a 2dr teg but far roomier in leg room and shoulder room. As for the seats, they are well bolstered and firmly supportive. The clutch is well, very forgiving... which i need since i'm still not very good.Steering response is ok, and suspension feels decent for stock, but sits a little higher than i'd like. Overall, i couldn't be happier.

For those who ask why not another honda, well.... i wanted something a little different, and the scion seemed like a better value than the rsx base at 2-3k cheaper.

Thanks for all your support guys, i really appreciate your input during the ordeal. And i'm pretty sure i'll be on the site regularly. I loved my teg too much not to be. hehe...

Congratulation on your new ride! May I ask, what was the total out the door after tax? My sister is looking into getting one too.

Thanks, the subtotal was something like 18750 or so and after tax, reg., dmv, & doc fees it was about 20,300-20,400. But i had some options on the car, like the upgraded security, the factory pioneer 6cd sys., lip spoiler, ugly shift ****, upper tie bar, floor mats & TRD exhaust. That doesnt include the interest on finance however. does that sufficiently answer your question?

20,400 with all the mentioned options is a good deal The Tc should be selling like hotcakes.

they are... most dealerships don't have any available for sale. Many presell the tC's by taking orders with deposits before hand. Some notify wait list members as allocations of new vehicle shipments show up on their computers. My car came onto the lot today i believe. I was the first one to drive it with only 2 miles on it, which is less than mileage we used to get over at the nissan dealership on new car shipments. I've called every single scion dealership within oh 55miles of my place here in so cal, and demand is extremely high for these things.

Some great factory add on's like the trd exhaust, front upper tie bar, and soon the AEM CAI. COmbine that with a ridiculously low base price of 15.9k and you're talking about a great value. Its got 160 in torque which is more than the base rsx and more interior space to boot. wider standard tires compared to base rsx and longer wheelbase for more stablility in high speed. Standard 17" wheels & a base cd player that plays mp3's. Plus it has incredible room in the engine bay so i think it'd be a great candidate for boosted application, especially since the stock compression is relatively low and displacement is way big at 2.4L. Overall a great bang for your buck.

I felt the same way, until i got into my accident. Then i realized it was an opportunity to try something a little different, and with all the heat my family gave me about my moddin my teg, i liked the idea of getting a car that was pretty decent right off the dealership lot.

Plus i was constrained by my budget, and wanted new car reliability. ANd in regards to honda/acura that left me few choices... the ep3 is ****** ugly in my opinion and the base rsx was still thousands more than a decenlty equipped tC. Plus there's that desire to be the first on the block wit a car ya kno? and the RSX is now going into its 4th year of production. That whole "oooh whats that car?" element is entirely gone with the rsx, and i would never be as happy with an rsx as i was with my integra... i truly miss it.

As for not knowing how to mod a car... well i'm a firm believer that the basics of most cars are relatively the same. HOwever, you are correct to a certain extent... the factory service manual for these things aren't even out yet according to a scion part manager.

good choice man. I dont remember if I mentioned in your "accident" thread but my gf picked up a black tC a few months back. Flint Mica wasn't available at the time (3 months wait period) I was very impressed with the car. First thing she asked me to do was debadge the tC emblem looks so clean. Anyways congrats on your new car. Kind of a bummer knowing we never got to meet nor our integras.

the under hood space is great for boosting applications. Like the TRD supercharger that's cmin out soon. 40 more horsepower and factory warranty, cant beat that.

What a change up, my friend just bought one too. Its a real nice car for you money like you say. I think trd has a supercharger for it, but it isn't released yet.

haha.. yup yup... name change official now.. hehe...

pdcdragon ----> tC_Dragon

ANd yea, i signed up on scionlife as tC_Dragon as well as another site called tcforums.com

As for the s100, i'm plannin on this saturday if i can. The car is ****** beautiful in the flint mica color. hehe.. i'm lovin it. ITs the most demanded color for the tC rite now, and no dealership has it or any tc for that matter. MOst are being preordered.... its kinda funny... like at least half the people on scionlife with tc's say they want or wanted the flint mica, but settled for other colors cuz they couldn't wait. hahaha.... i'm very happy with the car... drives with a shitload of torque.
