are you sure i not something touching the the back of the seat or some type of panel. Mine use to do that but that usually wold be the seat rubbing against the back panel.

there really isn't anything on the exterior of the car by the driver side door to cause any rattling. I'd say it's something in the interior. Not coming from front or rear driver side?

it's sort of sounds like it's comming from the door...... but only the rear half of it... and it doesnt' sound like a rubbing sound. it's like a tapping sound...

and i'll check the seat mounts in the morning..

only thing I can think of is if something slipped passed your window and fell into the door cavity.

Check all those, PLUS THE SPARE TIRE CAP. Mine was rattling and I couldn't find the source. Even brought it to the dealer to have a look, but they couldn't find it. Finally, I opened the spare tire and saw that the mounting cap/nut was loose and rattling like a little rattle snake. After I tightened it, not a single rattle from then on.

Check your hardtop latch.... Or the joints of the top itself....
