SUGAR!!! Placed in my oil fill hole and gas tank HELP! HELP!
Thats right. I woke up this morning only to find my car had been vandalised quite nicely.
My hood was popped, oil fill cap removed and sugar was poured, (looks like a large ammount) into my valve cover. I think this can probably just be cleaned up by removing the valve cover and washing it out and maybe 2 quick oil changes right?
But the ******* even put sugar in my gas tank. Now there was a ******* lot on the ashphalt so i know theres a good bit in there, what do you suggest I do about this....
Is there a way short of dropping the tank I can remove all of the gas? Maybe by hand drill a hole ( i know would take a while ) and then patch it up somehow
I dont want to drop it because I know **** it brittleand can break and Id prob **** something up and I dont have a lift
Give me some advise guys
Im pretty sure I know who did it since nothing was stolen but I just need advise on this for now, beating comes later, I need my car

Must remove all of the substance. You talk like are so knowledable I'm sure you will be able to handle this. You must have pissed off some people pretty bad. I can see why they did it
Well remove the valve cover and try to vacuum as much as you can out of it. If you think any got into the crankcase then change the oil immediately, then run it a bit on some cheap oil, then perhaps change it again. The gastank should have a drainplug (most do), drain the gas and try to get as much sediment out as possible. Remove the fuel pump and clean the tank out also. I would tend to the gas tank before starting the engine.
well... doesn't that just suck! sorry to hear about it.
I would pretty much do the same as everyone else.
pop valve cover try to get as much out as possible then change the oil and filter. i would run a box of oil through the system with the vavle cover off just dumping oil till you think most of it was cycled through.
for the fuel i would drain the gas throw the tank away and get a new/used one on. Clean the hell out of the pump and then change the fuel filter.
next go to napa or pepboys even auto zone and buy a locking gas cap that you need a key to open. also buy some hood pins that also have a lock and lock your car up tight. if they did it once they will do it again.
best of luck to you.

drop the tank, leave the pump installed if there is no pluag and pump the gas into a waste container, then fill your tank with water several times to disolve any of the sugar left in the tank, then bake the tank dry in the sun, or let it sit out a few days or hit it with a hair dryer. the engine, pull the valve cover and leave the plug out of the pan drain alot fo oil through there, buy the cheapest you can. with the same cheap oil ru the car for about 1 minute chaneg filter, run another minute change filter(all this can be done with cheap filters since sugar particles are HUGE. If you have access to a filter cutter open the filter and see how much suger there is. i would recomend chnaging the filter 5 times based on how much sugar there is!

Myth Busters tested sugar in the gas tank. The engine kept on going. Regardless, drain it out. It's just a 17mm bolt on the bottom of the tank.

I was going to say that!
THe only thing they could do to stop a engine was to put bleech in the oil.
FYI: did you know if you crack an egg in your radiator it will stop the leak

Pick up the phone and get the popo there, and get an official report written, when the car dies you can then claim insurance on it b/c you have an official police report.

You do know that was on a carbuerated engine though right?
No injectors to gum up
I should have mentionned this but the car wasnt driven after I found the sugar.
I called the cops and reported it, they wanted to tow it to there shop for fingerprints and thats where it sits right now, Ill tow it home and do the ****, car hasnt been started nor will it be before I try some of this ****
What I was thinking about the tank though, correct me if Im wrong, cant I just drain all the gasoline, getting quite a bit of the sugar out and then just fill the tank with water via a hose? Let the water sit for an hour, drain it, do it again.
Also Ive never changed my fuel filter or removed my fuel pump assembly, difficult?
I need the car back on the road by monday, and I cant touch it today or tomorrow
Thanks guys

The fuel filter is good to hit at with air tools, do to the fact that it doesn't like to stay in place when you apply torque to it. The fuel pump should be accesible underneath your rear seat, that is all I can help with; never really fiddled with mine. In the meantime, find those ******* and beat the living hell out of them; if you need some inspiration, this handy Army Field Manual on Wall-to-Wall counseling shoud help you out

its really a simple fix that will just cost a lil bit of money
simply take the plugs out of both the oil pan and gas tank and pour oil and gas through motor and tank simply flushing everything out

As stated B4..this is a crime of passion ( a woman did this..a guy
would basically wanna crack your skull
) All I can think of is
drain and flush the tank..as for the top end ( remove the valve cover
and the head...and start cleaning ) its gonna take some time...basically
who di dthis wanted to disrupt you life...sucks to be you.

I would just.. Do the following.
Drain the gas. Fill new gas. Run till tank is almost empty. Change filter, refill with gas. Your gas is now clean.
And do an oil change. Then 100KM later, another.
Then you will be fine.

he needs to flush the system... what if they poured like a bag of sugar into the engine?! he needs to flush it out.
change/flush/change/flush/change/drink a beer/ repeat.
BTW lets talk about who you think did this? why would they do it?
