Default 12.5:1 84mm bore safe?

i want to run 84mm 12.5:1 pistons in a non sleeved gsr motor if i add a block guard will this be ok to do i realy want to have it sleeved but that is a lot of money and if i can get away with not doing it ill run the block guard. i also want to run a 55 shot of zex if that makes it any worse.

Can I have your motor after you blow it up? 82mm is max on stock sleeves. 55 shot 84mm bore stock sleeves = BOOM!

You have to sleeve it to get an 84mm bore on a B16 or B18. We sleeve and build these all the time. The stock sleeve wall thickness isn't there.

I think the guy is referring to stock sleeves on a gsr block. Max Bore you can go is 82mm. I don't know how you run run 84.5mm on a stock non sleeved gsr motor 15k miles unless your running a b20 block.

you can go to 84mm .. BUT YOU HAVE TO SLEEVE IT

86mm? Why not just got 89

Sleeve it to 84.5mm or 85.0mm.

240hp? What internals do you plan on running? Better break out the wallet or VISA

Displacement = Pi(3.14) x 1/2 R (bore) squared x H (stroke) x 4 (# of cylinders)
Motor you are talking about = 3.14x 4.3(1/2 of 8.6 centimeters) x 4.3 x 8.72 x 4 = 2025 cc's.
All bore/stroke numbers are in centimeters because you are looking for displacement in terms of cc's (cubic centimeters).

???? haha ive been out of schoolf for awhile. could you put that equation in laymens terms? haha
ok so its pi times 3.14(or are you stating pi is 3.14?)then multiplied by 1/2 of radius(stating radius is the bore?) then square 1/2 of the bore correct? then multiply the stroke multiplied by the cylinder?
or lets do this easier
pi x (1/2 bore squared)x stroke x #cylinders?

Pi is equal to 3.14.
The radius is the bore.
You take 1/2 of the bore and square it (times it by itself-i.e. 4.3 x 4.3 on a 8.6 centimeter [86mm] bore).
H (height) is the stroke-on a GSR/ITR it is 8.72 centimeters.
Once you multiply this all out, you have the volume of one cylinder. Then you just multiply the volume of one cylinder times the number of cylinders in the motor.

So what you have is correct

I wouldn't recomend going .30 over on a stock sleeve. I don't even think Honda recomends it either.

Im sure there are a few places on the west side, but over here on the east (spokane)I had my b16 block sleeved by precision balancing (509) 926-4832. We had them install 87mm darton sleeves into my b16.
